Started Dogs For Sale

Bo hot on the rabbit

STARTED DOGS ARE OUR SPECIALTY. I AM VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT TAKING A PUP & TURNING IT ON TO RUNNING RABBITS. MY DEFINITION OF A STARTED DOG IS NOT WHAT SOME PEOPLE CALL A STARTED DOG. YOU KNOW SOME PEOPLE WILL CALL A DOG STARTED BECAUSE IT RAN A RABBIT 15 YARDS & BARKED 3 TIMES. I WILL NOT EVEN CONSIDER A DOG STARTED UNTIL IT IS HUNTING ON ITS OWN & STAYING IN THE RACE WITH THE OTHER DOGS.

MOST OF THE PUPS I START ARE PUPS I BREED & RAISE OUT OF MY OWN PERSONAL FINISHED DOGS. I DO NOT DO THIS JUST TO SELL SOMETHING BUT RATHER TO PRODUCE THE KIND OF DOG THAT YOU CAN BE PROUD OF BECAUSE IF IT COMES FROM HERE IT WILL HAVE A GREAT FOUNDATION TO BUILD ON & YOU CAN FINISH IT OUT BY PUTTING TRACKS ON IT & HARVESTING SOME RABBITS OVER THEM.

I BELIEVE PRODUCING A DOG YOU CAN BE PROUD OF STARTS WITH A GOOD BREEDING, HAVING THE RIGHT FACILITIES TO TRAIN,  INTRODUCING PUPS TO RABBITS, & GOOD RUNNING GROUNDS WITH LOTS OF RABBITS, BUT MOST OF ALL, TIME INVESTED IN THEM AT A VERY EARLY AGE.

WE ARE FORTUNATE TO HAVE ALL OF THE ABOVE. I TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN HAVING YOUNG DOGS THAT HUNT & HANDLE THE RIGHT WAY.

THE GREAT THING ABOUT BUYING A YOUNG DOG IS YOU GET TO WATCH THE DOG PROGRESS TO A FINISHED DOG & YOU GET A LOT MORE YEARS OF USE FOR YOUR MONEY.

I'VE HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE TO TELL ME THAT THE YOUNG DOGS, THEY ARE BUYING FROM HERE, ARE OUTPERFORMING SOME OF THE FINISHED DOGS THEY OWN. IT IS VERY COMMON FOR PEOPLE TO BUY 1-2 STARTED DOGS FROM US & THE NEXT THING YOU KNOW THEY ARE COMING BACK TO BUY MORE.

WHEN PEOPLE SEE THE QUALITY THAT IS THE STANDARD OF OUR STARTED DOGS IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE FOR MOST PEOPLE TO BUY OR RAISE PUPS BECAUSE AFTER YOU ADD UP THE COST OF BUYING A PUP, FEEDING, VACCINATIONS, & TRAINING PEN COST YOU ARE NOT FAR FROM THE COST OF ONE OF OUR STARTED DOGS BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY YOU HAVE THE ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY THAT YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A RABBIT DOG WITH THE HUNT, LOOKS, MOUTH, & HANDLE THAT YOU LIKE. YOU NORMALLY CAN COME HERE & CHOOSE BETWEEN A FEW DOGS INSTEAD OF BETTING IT ALL ON THE PUP YOU BOUGHT & HAVE WAITED FOR MONTHS HOPING IT TURNS OUT TO BE A GOOD DOG. WHAT IF THE PUP DOESN'T TURN OUT? WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT ALL THAT & SEE WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER YOU WILL FIND THIS IS THE WAY TO GO!

THAT'S NOT TO SAY THAT NO ONE ELSE HAS PUPS THAT TURN OUT RIGHT BUT IF YOU ARE TIRED OF THE RESULTS YOU ARE GETTING TRY US OUT. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

The parents to these are about as good as you'll find. Buster is a top notch rabbit dog that produces dogs with some serious hunt & jumping ability. Lettie is a daughter to Sandy & Joe who are the complete total rabbit dog package. Sandy is as good as I have seen. Lettie is one fine rabbit dog. These solid chocolate red dogs are out of Dynamite & Buster. They were born on 11/21/14. They should be 13" dogs when mature. I have been running them most every morning. They are getting better with each trip to the field. I'm seeing good hustle out of them & a strong desire to get after a rabbit once it's up.

They will do nothing but get better the more they are run. There's 2 females that will be ready soon but are still in the starting pen now. I should have them ready soon.

Georgia Red-tick Female

Sold to a man from Minnesota on 4/26/15

These started dogs were born on 10/30/14 & are out of Georgia & Hunter, Jr. Georgia is an awesome female that is a daughter to Brownie & Buster while Jr is a son to Hunter & Ruby which means that these started dogs have the following bloodlines from my kennel: Hunter, Cricket, & Buster. What a combination!

These 3 are really coming on strong. They have great hunt & stay in every race to the end then start looking for another rabbit. They have a lot of desire & hustle which will only get stronger. They handle well & are getting better each time out. The 2 males will be closer to 15" but the female will be 13" when grown.

There's 4 other litter mates that I'm working with. They should be ready soon but aren't quite ready now.        Price is $700 each.

DSCN0600

Sissy Female

Sold to Keith Lusk from Union City, TN on 3/28/15

I kept the 2 females out of Sissy & Buster to make a choice of which one to keep. It has been a very difficult decision because both of the females are the real deal. I kept one I named Gogetta. This female is a 13" beagle that was born on 8/20/14.

She has real good hunt, a nice chop mouth, & handles as great as any dog you'll find. She has for some wheels running an upper medium speed & will fire up when she has a track under her nose. When she's not running a rabbit she will be in the thick stuff trying to find one. She's in every race till the end.

This dog is gonna be one you will be proud to call yours & if she's fed a lot of tracks she will be some kind of rabbit dog. She is full of potential to be a top notch dog.       Price is $700 SOLD!!!!

DSCN0593

Max

Sold to Mr. Smith from Richland, VA on 3/28/15

This male is out of Little Ann & Hunter, Jr. He was born on 8/22/14. He will be between 13" - 15" when mature. I had originally taken a deposit on this dog but the guy who put the deposit on him can't take him so he is now available for sale.

I have been running him & he is doing great. His ears, nose, & eyes will be beat up after a hunt. He is staying in every race & is getting better with each trip to the field. He has a chop mouth & is using it right. This dog will make someone a very fine rabbit dog. All he needs is tracks. If you want a dog you can take to the field immediately & have some fun look no further.           Price is $700. SOLD!!!!!

DSCN0581

Piper

Sold to Derick Smith from Pounding Mill, VA on 3/28/15

This male is out of Sissy & Buster. He was born on 8/20/14. He will mature at 13" I believe. He comes from some great blood as both parents have tremendous jumping ability. This dog is getting in the thick stuff already & is doing a great job. I had a deposit on him by the same guy as the Little Ann Male but he couldn't take the dogs so here's another very fine started dog that is available.

I have had the 2 males kneeled together & they get along just fine. I've had no issues in the kennel or dog box with these. All this dog needs is time in the field.                Price is $700. SOLD!!!!

DSCN0411

Coco

Sold to Chad Broadway from Monroe, NC on 1/30/15

Coco is a dark chocolate male that should be close to 15" when fully grown. Coco was born on 4/23/14 & is out of a dog named Poncho. Poncho is the male I always bred Cricket to. Coco is also a younger brother to Dynamite on the Our Females page & the beautiful Cutie Pie that I unfortunately lost to a car last year.

I debated on keeping Coco for a possible future stud but I kept his brother, Pepper, for that. I also kept all 3 female litter-mates as well. Coco is getting better each time I take him & is coming on. I normally have dogs started way before this age but I held off on this litter because I was getting everyone else's dogs going ahead of what I was keeping. Price is $700. SOLD!!!!

DSCN0412

Speck

Sold to Cary Williams from South GA on 1/30/15

Speck is a 13" blue-tick out of Brownie & Buster. He was born on 6/15/14. Speck was a little slow to start but has come on strong & is showing a lot of hustle & drive now. He is a litter-mate brother to R.D.

Speck has very good hunt, handles well, & is very smart. I shocked him off of a deer several days ago. I watched him come back with the finished dogs when some other young dogs ran something wrong 2 days ago. I'm not saying he's deer broke but he did remember that he shouldn't go on that track because it wasn't a rabbit. I love seeing a dog with some brains figure stuff out. I believe Speck is going to be a very fine rabbit dog. All he needs is tracks. Price is $700. SOLD!!!!

DSCN0374

R.D.

Sold to Terry Steen from Vaiden, MS on 1/2/14

RD is a red & white male out of Brownie & Buster. He was born on 6/15/14. RD has very good hunt, runs an upper-medium speed, & has a tremendous chop mouth for such a young dog.

I am very impressed with this dog. He has really come on in the last few days. I've had some great races lasting 45 min - over an hour & RD has been in them, getting checks & running up toward the front most of the time.

I believe he will turn out to be a lead dog that will be one to brag on. He doesn't seem to have any quit in him. His ears are scratched up after each hunt. Get this one & I believe you're getting a special dog. Price is $700. SOLD!!!

Jack & Jill are a fine pair of tricolors that are litter mates to Stan & Jan that were sold earlier this year. They were born on 1/24/14. I raised them & started them. Jill is under 13" while Jack is a 13" male.

I ran them this morning (12/24) & had a race that lated more than an hour. They were doing it all the right way. These 2 are ready to go get after some rabbits. They handle very well, have very good hunt, & will make you proud to own them. Price is $700 each. SOLD!!!

DSCN0347

Blue

Sold to Nathan Warren from Shreveport on 12/26/14

Blue is a nice blue-tick 13" male out of Jimbo (on the finished dog page) & a Maggie daughter named Hannah so he has the Cricket & Sandy blood on the dam side of him.

Blue has good hunt & a good strong chop mouth. He also handles very good. He knows what the tone & shock collar is & will respond to it. He gets better each time out. Price is $700. SOLD!!!

DSCN0354

 Gator

Sold to Kelsey Coleman from Little Rock, AR on 12/26/14

Gator is a 13" blue-tick male out of Natural & Joe that was born on 7/4/14. Gator was going to go to Canada but the man wanted to get a couple of dogs that were ready quicker so he bought Gem & Magic.

Gator is coming on strong. I've had him running in the wild for a little while & he just gets better with each track he is fed. He is hunting very well, packing up & staying in the races, & he's no problem to handle. He's showing all the promise of making a first class rabbit dog. Price is $700. SOLD!!!!

IMG_2538

Peyton Red-tick Female #3

Sold to Paul from Oxford, CT on 12/9/14

This female was born on 6/30/14 & is out of Peyton & Scooter. She should be 13" when fully grown. She is doing very well running in the wild & is showing all the signs of being a real good rabbit dog. She gets better with each trip to the field & is coming on strong.

This is a granddaughter to Hunter the retrieving beagle on the dam side & of course Scooter is the sire so this is a dog that is bred right. I expect great things from this dog. She handles great, hunts hard, & runs an upper medium speed with a nice sounding mouth. Price is $700. SOLD!!!

IMG_2537

Ellie

Sold to Stewart & Katti Landry from Pierre Pratt, LA on 12/18/14.

Ellie is a 13" tricolor female out of Brownie & Buster. She was born on 6/15/14 & is coming on strong. Ellie has a lot of hustle & hunt which is what I've been getting  out of all of the pups out of Brownie. I'm sure this one will make you a proud owner & that whoever gets her will want more like her.

Ellie has the hunt you want, knows what the shock collar is & handles very well, runs an upper medium speed, & is ready to go. Price is $700. SOLD!!!

Stubby

Sold to Stewart & Katti Landry from Pierre Pratt, LA on 11/11/14.

These 4 males are out of Tiger & Buster. They were born on 5/11/14 & are really coming on strong. They are very determined & stay in the thicket with their head down searching. The hunt is very good & when they get one up it is on. I can already tell that these will be something else when they are finished out if they are just fed the tracks.

The black & tans will be 15" when grown & the tricolors will be closer to 13" when grown.

I love watching a found dog's light bulb turn on & these males have the bulb burning bright. They are all used to the shock collar & the tone button. A little bump every now & then is all it takes to get them to your feet if they don't come to the tone or whistle. I know whoever gets these will be a happy customer. Price is $700 each. SOLD!!!

Steady was the runt of the litter & is a black & tan that is under 13" while Ready is a dark red beagle that looks like Buster & is 13" beagle. Both have great hunt & handle great. Ready has worn the hair off all around her eyes & both will rip their ears up looking for a rabbit.

These 2 are the real deal & you'd have a hard time finding a dog that'll give you any more effort than these 2 will. If you want a young dog that's gonna be a real go getter don't pass these up. Price is $1,000 each. SOLD!!!!

She handles great & is no problem at all to control. She has great determination when she's on a rabbit & does well in the check area. Here's a chance to get a very good young dog that has some experience & has not only great looks but the qualities that make a good rabbit dog. Price is $1,000. SOLD!!!!

Joker

Sold to Pierce Godfrey from Bessemer, AL on 10/25/14

Joker is a red-tick male out of Fire & Scooter born on 4/22/14. He should be a 15" dog when fully grown. Joker is improving every time we go out. I'm confident he will do well with tracks. He already understands that the tone button means to get to me immediately & he comes in quick.

Joker will make someone a very nice dog & is a good looking dog as well. I'm running him every time I go so he will just keep getting better as each day goes by. Price is $700. Sold!!!!

Bandit is doing very well. He loves to go hunting & is well on his way to becoming a tremendous dog. He handles great & is staying in every race. I've seen him jump rabbits & get checks as well. These 4 red & white dogs were born on 4/15/14 & are out of Fawn, a daughter of Brownie & Buster, & Waylon, a son of Hunter & Ruby. Fawn was the runt of the litter. Her liter mate sisters are Little Ann & Georgia. Fawn is a little fireball just like her sisters. She may be small but she hunts very big & backs down to no one. She has tons of hunt & gets in places some of the bigger dogs can't get.

Waylon is a big 15" dog. He hunts more like a bulldozer & has as big of a mouth as you'll find. Waylon is a younger brother to Hunter Jr, Peyton, & Hottie that are some of my favorites to go out with.

My buddy, David Russell, owns Fawn & Waylon & made this cross. I helped him do the same worming & shot schedule I use & the same products. I removed the dew claws & docked the tails. David sight chased the pups early & often & I started the whole litter. David had a very tough time making his choices. I will have 2 males that are litter-mates to these ready soon.

These young dogs are doing great in the wild & getting better with each trip to the wild. They have good hunt & handle & are very excited when they get a rabbit up.

if you like dogs who are gonna have their ears torn up when you load them this is your type of dog. Price is $700 each SOLD!!!!

Copper is a lemon-tick male & Buddy is a blue-tick male. They are out of Abby, who is a Sandy & Joe daughter, & Hank, who is a son of Cricket & Poncho. This is my bloodlines on both sides.

They were born on 4/20/14. My buddy, David Russell made this cross & I started the whole litter. David followed every schedule that I use for wormer & shots & actually got the shots, etc from me. I removed the dew claws & docked the tails myself. David sight chased the pups prior to them going into the training pen.

The pups started very quick & David has had a tough time deciding on which pups to keep. I've been running them in the wild & I'm impressed with what I'm seeing. They have very good hunt, good mouth, hunt with their nose on the ground, & both handle great. They are improving every time we go out & are going to make a great dogs if given time in the field. Here's an opportunity to get a very nice looking dog that will not just look good but perform good as well. Buddy should be 15" when grown. Copper will be a little smaller frame than Buddy. If you like a dog that will love all over you when you are not hunting Copper is your kind of dog. Lou

Sold to Adam Hewitt from Ontario, Canada on 7/5/14

IMG_1636

Blue

Sold to Adam Hewitt from Ontario, Canada on 7/5/14

These 2 males are out of Sandy & Joe. they were born on 2/19/14. Adam put a deposit on these 2 when they were 8 weeks old. There are 6 in the litter but I kept 3 females & a male myself. (No I'm not going to sell them!)

These are the real deal. I thought I would have them ready in September but I decided to try & get them ready earlier so I put them in the starting pen on 5/28/14 @ 3 months old. I took them out of the pen on 6/8/14 because their noses were torn up & they were burning rabbits up.

I took them in the wild & they ran as good as I could ever hope for a pup at 3 moths old. They've never come out of a race yet & are very serious about hunting rabbits. They handle great & load at the tail gate without being chased down. I've very seldom had to even shock them. I couldn't be prouder of them.

I know Adam is going to love these 2 & he was impressed at their ability when he came to see them & pick them up. Price is $700 each. SOLD!!!

There's a few pups on the Available for Deposit page now that can be reserved.
